Why am I blogging?

My first blog was started in 2007. It was my "secret" forum that I posted on, kept private for no one to read. This pretty  much sums me up. Very private and disciplined in not providing TMI.

I heard from a former employee today. He's coming over on Monday so we can catch up. As manager, particularly upper management, you cannot be too personal with your employees. You really can't be too personal with your colleagues either, but that's a whole other topic! This was always my pain. Running a small business gets lonely in the office and daily production meetings with some shallow chit chat was the best I could do.

Nothing personal, but I don't want to get too close to you because I may have to fire you one day or you could sue me for saying something wrong to you.

January 27th of this year I walked away from having to keep quiet, stoic, and always attentive to the latest hr laws, daily production, monthly sales, outstanding receivables, blah, blah, blah. January 27th I chose to close a very large, defining chapter of my life and start a new one for all the world to get to know me. January 27th I told my friends I had a blog,The Mom Standard.  No one knew.

Why am I blogging?
For the love of words on paper. For healing. For entertainment. For family & friends. For me.

  1. Good for you! I'm sure this has been a big change for you but, I'm guessing a very worthwhile change right! Enjoy your time with your co-worker and hope you have a blessed day!

  2. Hmm, I can relate to your love of words. Words are magical, creative, life transforming. That's why I blog.
