I missed you

We picked B up from my in-laws tonight. She spent 2 nights there so daddy and I could celebrate our wedding anniversary.

It amazes me every time I see her after being away. She seems bigger, more mature, has an increased vocabulary, and of course grandparentitis.

No matter how much she changes, she still hugs me tight and speaks in my ear "I missed you Mommy".

It feels good to be missed. It feels better to be hugged and loved.

  1. That is the best! It feels good to get away sometimes but there is nothing like that return. They love you sooooo much and that reaction is raw and so meaningful. It's tough to see progress when you are with them every minute. It is highlighted in those moments. So good, thanks for sharing. I have a big smile :)

    Happy anniversary! BTW

  2. oh this tugged on my heart strings. I have yet to have a night away from my munchkin and though I know it will be enjoyed when it finally happens...I'm not to the point yet where I can handle it;0. So sweet that she loves on you and says sweet things when she gets home!

  5. Casey-The first overnighter B had I didn't know if I was going to survive. I wasn't emotionally ready at all. It was like I cut off my right arm and gave it away.

I'm way over that! She spends ALOT of weekends at the in-laws now. :-)
