Reuse, Recycle, ReStore! Grand Opening TODAY!

DuPage Habitat ReStore Grand Opening Saturday July 23, 2011 10:30am to 6pm. Ribbon cutting at 10am.  Mosaic tile demonstrations at 11:30am.

Nestled at the entrance of an industrial park off of Rt. 53 & North Ave. is a new addition to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore Family: DuPage Habitat Restore.

Waking in you are met with vast isles of new and gently used household and construction materials donated by local businesses, charity organizations, and homeowners.  For the DIYer on a budget you would be doing yourself a disservice not to stop here first for what you need.

Brand new lighting fixtures, cabinets, sinks, vanities, ceramic tile, doors, windows all at 50% or more off retail value! (Some of the prices will make you feel guilty of stealing, they are so low. Really, I'm not kidding!)

I had the opportunity to meet with the ReStore manager Jim Fessler who brings to Habitat professional retail experience and years of dedicated volunteerism with habitat building homes.  He has a great passion to make this ReStore a beacon of community responsiveness to reduce wasted, reuse, and go green.

DuPage ReStore is truly purposed to be part of the community, helping the community, and constructing the future for DuPage County.  All profits from ReStore's sales go directly to funding Habitat's mission "Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God’s love and can live and grow into all that God intends."

ReStore is staffed with volunteers from the community and those that particpate in the home program.  When you go in, chat-up an associate.  You will walk out with money left over and a better citizen when you do!

ReStore is located at 869 South Rohlwing Road in Addison, IL.  Two blocks north of North Ave. and Route 53.  Hours of operation are Thursday through Saturday 10am-6pm.  Donations accepted Wednesdays through Saturday  10am-4pm.

See you there!

*ReStore donations can be dropped off at the Addison location by appointment only.  DuPage Habitat for Humanity offers a pick-up service for large donations--please contact Jim Fessler at 630-510-3737 to set up an appointment.  In addition to helping to reuse and recycle, donations of materials and equipment are tax deductible.
