1st Frugal FREEZE

What? I'm freezing our Frugality?
Does this mean I'm stopping my quest to be the ultimate FruGal?

No. It's been 3 months since we started our "No Spend Challenge" and have learned quite a bit about our spending, our guilty pleasures, our wants, our needs, and our consumptions.

Why the Freeze?
I've hit a fork in the Frugal Road. Let me explain.
  1. Expenses have been cut drastically.
  2. I get a high when I see the Sunday paper in the driveway.
  3. I'm still in love with the clothesline and have only used the dryer maybe 5 times in 2 months.
  4. Figuring out frugal meals is still fun.
  5. Being in control of our lives is pretty awesome too.
OK, so these points sound like our frugal quest is heading in the right direction. Here's the hiccup. I've been reading all the frugal and couponing sites, cutting coupons, salivating at the notion of getting free stuff and have been indulging is such. This has left us with a storage room full of stuff that B4 Frugal we'd never purchase or use-but it was free or a killer deal or it gave me a Catalina coupon to use for the next shopping trip.

The remainder of this week I am just going to stand here at the fork in the road. And determine which way to take in the remainder of our Frugal Adventures. I'll explain more when I get over this writer's block!

  1. I'm hoping that someday soon I will be able to focus on being a stay at home mom and leave my job of 7 years..(Shhh). I am reminded how essential it is that I start working on being more frugal now while we still have both incomes then try and wait until we are cramped with one. Your posts are very inspiring for me!
